A close friend who is also a landscape architect for a very large prestigious engineering firm agreed to design a small backyard project for our new home, and he directed us to Epic as an up-and-coming landscape company that was mature enough to deliver a high-quality project, but small enough to give us attention and get it done quickly, as it seems most of the big landscape companies here in the metroplex are simply too busy to pay any attention to smaller projects. We solicited bids from 4 landscaping companies, and Epic was by far the most responsive, professional, and communicative, and they ended up beating the next lowest bid by almost 40%. They estimated it would take about a month to get started, but they managed to exceed that and broke ground about a week after we signed the contract and were completely finished in little over a week, including a lot of French drains and grading, reconfiguring all of the irrigation lines and valves in our backyard, setting up forms, pouring concrete, salt finish, several layers of gravel, and some plants. The project came out absolutely stunning (wish I had better pics on my phone) and the quality is top notch. Best thing about Epic was the constant communication, checking in with us at every little step of the process to confirm they were laying the drains, edging, gravel, turf, etc., exactly the way we wanted it and never assuming the plans were correct or assuming we’d be okay with a particular style or quality of materials, but always bringing us options and asking us to chose and sign off; in some cases suggesting some better alternatives for different plants, vines, materials, etc. We could not be more pleased with their professionalism and work product.
